Ingredients
Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish
- Flour for dusting

1 puff pastry sheet (thawed)
- 1 egg
- Butter (room temperature)
- 1 tbsp. water
Filling
Almond Puff Danish
Glaze
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp. water
- Slivered almonds (optional)
Directions
Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Whisk together egg and water to create an egg wash. Set aside for later.
- Dust cutting board with flour and roll out dough.
- Cut about 8 strips on each side of the puff pastry directly across from each other leaving about 2 inches of the center uncut.
- Brush the center with butter.
- In a bowl us an electric mixer to combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk.
- Spread cream cheese filling into the center of dough.
- Spoon swirl over the cream cheese mixture and swirl in using a fork.
- Fold over each end of the puff pastry locking in filling.
- Take each strip and cross it over to the opposite side creating a shoe lace effect.
- Place on a parchment lined or greased cookie sheet.
- Brush entire top of pastry with egg wash.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown
- Let cool on rack for 10 min before slicing.
Almond Puff Danish
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Whisk together egg and water to create an egg wash. Set aside for later.
- Roll Almond Paste into 6 balls about 1-2 tbsp. each and set aside.
- Dust cutting board with flour and roll out 6 puff pastry shells.
- Spread a small amount of butter in the center of each puff pastry.
- Place Almond Paste balls in center of each puff pastry.
- Fold up edges of puff pastries around Almond Paste pinching the top to seal.
- Place puff pastry balls into greased cupcake pan.
- Brush each one with egg wash.
- Bake 15-20 min until golden brown.
- Place on cooling rack for 10-15 min.
- While cooling make the glaze by combining powdered sugar and water.
- Once cooled drizzle with glaze and top with slivered almonds.
