BREWING FAQS
Craft Purée®
Created with consistency and efficiency in mind, Craft Purées are easier to use and easily scalable. There is no need to premix or dissolve. All Craft Purées are pasteurized, filtered, and liquified. Designed specifically for beer and craft beverage.Artisans
Designed with a more sweet- and tart-forward profile, Artisan Natural Flavors range in consistency from honey-like to a thicker paste and require premixing or dissolving prior to dosing. Water or any existing beer can be used to premix or dissolve. Artisan Natural Flavors are colored naturally with plants extractives and are backed with the fresh taste of real fruit.Compounds
Designed for a well-rounded flavor that includes sweetness, tartness, some color, and in some items fruit filaments, Compounds contain the most amount fruit. The color in our fruit-flavored compounds comes from the source fruit and can contain filaments of fruit as well, no additional color is added. Compounds require premixing or dissolving prior to dosing. Water or any existing beer can be used to premix or dissolve.Extracts
Created for virtually all applications, our water-soluble extracts offer the true essence of the flavor you’re after. Extracts are the most concentrated and versatile product line, with more than 500 flavors available. With little to no sugar, extracts provide a quality flavor and aroma but no sweetness or tartness. Extracts perform best in naturally sweet beers, for drier beers, a sweetening agent may be required. Most extracts are clear. Our team works closely with breweries domestically and internationally who operate on levels ranging from a home-brew to industrial scale. Our clients tend to report two ideal points during the brewing process at which you can add our products: During fermentation (towards the end of secondary fermentation) or post fermentation, right into your brite tank or keg. Keep in mind, when adding to the brite or keg, Craft Purées, Artisan, and Compounds do contain fermentable sugars. Extracts are the only exception and can be added at any point during your process.
For a more fruit-forward flavor, we recommend adding Craft Purées, Artisans, and Compounds post fermentation. If your end result is overly sweet, our products can be added during the fermentation process (typically near the end of secondary fermentation). A slightly higher dosage may be required. The final product will be more nuanced and less sweet in comparison to a post fermentation approach.
