Cherry Covered Chocolate Waffles
For Valentine's Day make a delicious romantic breakfast that your Valentine will cherish and appreciate!
Ingredients
CHOCOLATE WAFFLES- 2 oz (½ stick) butter
- 4 oz chopped dark chocolate
- 1½ cups all purpose flour
- 3 tbsp sugar
- ½ cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp Amoretti® Vanilla Madagascar Bourbon W.S. 2X
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp Amoretti® Vanilla Madagascar Bourbon W.S. 2X
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 - 12oz package frozen cherries, thawed
- 3 tbsp Amoretti® Kirsch Syrup
- 3 tbsp Amoretti® Blue Agave Nectar Light
- powdered sugar
- mint leaves
- waffle iron
Directions
CHOCOLATE WAFFLES- Preheat waffle iron for about 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 200℉.
- Melt butter and chocolate together. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Add dry ingredients to mixer: flour, sugar, dark cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, and Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the mixer with the dry ingredients and blend together.
- Fold in melted chocolate.
- Add batter to waffle iron and cook for about 2-5 minutes until crisp.
- Continue until all the batter has been used. Transfer waffles to the oven to keep warm.
- Whip cream, cocoa powder, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Heat cherries, Kirsch Syrup, and Agave Nectar on low heat until warmed through.
- Dust plated waffles with powdered sugar.
- Add a dollop of Chocolate Whipped Topping.
- Top it off with a spoonful of Cherry Topping and a mint leaf.
- Feel free to substitute Cherry Syrup or Maraschino Bing Cherry Syrup in the Cherry Topping.
- These are also great with ice cream if you're feeling especially decadent.
