Pecans are just an amazing flavor and just thinking of them reminds me of pecan pies and New Orleans styled pralines. Sooo good and so yummy and soo fattening!! And caloric!!

Making protein smoothies using pecans is so great and yummy BUT pecans themselves have a tender or subtle flavor (compared to peanuts for example), and can easily get overpowered by anything else added (like protein powder, maple syrup, etc.).

One has to add plenty of pecans to make them stand out.. but that comes at a high fat and caloric cost. Fact of nature.

Except when I can use Amoretti's Pecan WS extract. OMG.. it is absolutely perfect and I use just a 1/2 tsp per single 20 oz smoothie. I still get a reasonably caloric (and good fat filled) smoothie but it tastes like I poured a 1/2 bag of pecans in.

I got the 4 oz product as my 1st purchase. When I run out, I'll get the 2lb size.
