S'mores Whoopie Pies

Indulge in these easy-to-make S'mores Whoopie Pies! The light and fluffy shells are packed full of bold chocolate and graham cracker flavor from our Natural S'mores Artisan Flavor and the filling resembles freshly roasted marshmallows thanks to our Toasted Marshmallow Artisan.

Ingredients

S'MORES SHELL
MARSHMALLOW BUTTERCREAM FILLING
TOPPINGS
  • Graham cracker crumbs
  • Dark chocolate chips (for drizzling)

Directions

SMORES SHELL
  1. Preheat oven to 375 F
  2. In a medium bowl sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Once sifted whisk in graham cracker crumbs.
  3. In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. In a small bowl whist together buttermilk, egg and Smores Artisan Natural Flavor. 
  5. Working in increments add the flour mixture and buttermilk mixture to the butter, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Transfer 1 heaping tablespoon dollops onto a parchment lined baking sheet. 
  7. Wet your fingers and smooth out any imperfections on the batter. 
  8. Transfer to oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the tops spring back when pressed.
MARSHMALLOW BUTTERCREAM
  1. Cream the butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Slowly mix in powdered sugar.
  3. Add salt, milk and Toasted Marshmallow Artisan Natural Flavor and mix until combined. Scrape sides of bowl as needed.
ASSEMBLY
  1. Fill a piping bag with marshmallow buttercream and pipe it onto half of the shells.
  2. Place the remaining shells on top of the buttercream.
  3. Melt some chocolate and drizzle it on top, sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs and enjoy!
