Frosted Gingerbread Loaf
What's more delicious than a gingerbread cookie? A slice of this indulgent Frosted Gingerbread Loaf 🍞 Thanks to the help of our Gingerbread Compound we were able to perfectly infuse this loaf with bold ginger, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and molasses notes. We finished this treat off with a thick layer of cream cheese frosting flavored with a touch of our Natural Vanilla Bean Artisan.
Ingredients
GINGERBREAD LOAF
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Madagascar Bourbon Water Soluble 2X
- 2 tbsp. Amoretti® Gingerbread Compound
CREAM CHEESE ICING
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1tbsp. Amoretti® Natural Vanilla Bean Artisan
- Ground cinnamon
Directions
GINGERBREAD LOAF
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and lightly sprinkle a 9x5 loaf pan with flour
- In a medium bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt,
- In a large bowl whisk together buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, Vanilla Extract and Gingerbread Compound
- Slowly incorporate dry ingredients into wet in 3 batches.
- Pour batter into greased pan.
- Bake for 45min – 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clear. Let rest for 5-10 minutes and then carefully flip pan over onto cutting board, the loaf should fall out of the pan.
- Let rest until cooled
CREAM CHEESE ICING
- Using an electric mixer beat together butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in Vanilla Extract and mix again until incorporated
- Once the gingerbread loaf has cooled spread the icing on top and sprinkle with cinnamon
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
