Start your morning off right with these easy to make Blueberry Toaster Strudels! We used our Natural Blueberry Artisan to enhance the filling with an extra burst of bold blueberry flavor and topped them off with a tangy cream cheese icing. Pro tip: make them now and freeze the leftovers for when a craving hits.
In a medium bowl combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, Artisan flavors and 1 tbsp. of milk. Continue adding more milk until you achieve your desired consistency.
Set aside for later.
STRUDEL AND FILLING
In a medium sauce pan add blueberries, water, lemon juice, and corn starch.
bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for 10-20 min or until a thick sauce. Crush blueberries while simmering.
Remove from heat and stir in Blueberry Artisan. Let cool.
Dust a surface with flour and roll out your pastry sheet.
Cut in to 6-8 even rectangles.
Place a dollop of blueberry jam in the center of half of the rectangles, place remaining half over top and use a fork around the perimeter to close them. Transfer to parchment lined baking sheet.
Beat egg and water together and brush on top with a pastry brush.
Bake for 15 min or until the tops are golden brown.
